The Deputy Leadership and the Bloggers

This morning I had planned to write a post about how Paul Linford (and subsequenty Paul Burgin) did a list of how some of the top Labour bloggers are planning to vote in the deputy leadership election.

Then I was planning to subtly digress into my problem of choosing between Benn and Cruddas but just now I was reading on LabourHome about Benn’s article on Comment is Free. He proposes lowering the voting age to 16.

In suggesting this he demonstrates an understanding for the problems schools face, which is attempting to encourage teenagers to engage in subjects they often have no interest in without giving them a real social incentive; entrance into society.

As well as understanding that when it comes to issues like the environment, the younger you are, the more entailed you are to an opinion.
